About Us

The SES meets at The Borough Council Civic Centre, South Walls, Stafford on the first Wednesday of each month. The venue has ample free parking and easy wheelchair access.

Our meetings are social events to, with a chance to chat before and after our talks with members and guests about all things egyptian.

Doors open at 7.30pm and our talks usually start at about 7.50pm, we also hold a raffle the proceeds from which are used to maintain society equipment or are used to fund donations to Egyptian charities or archaeological work.

Talks cover a huge range of topics and are illustrated, we are able to attract famous egyptoloigists who talk about their latest research or exploration. There is always time for questions for our speakers or an informal chat afterwords.

We encourage our members to share their interests with us during members evenings where they are encouraged to give short talks on all things Egyptian.

In addition to our lecture programme we organise trips to Museums with Egyptian Collections both in the United Kingdom and abroad. The society also arranges from time to time, group visits to Egypts Ancient sites.
